Jogging Stroller?

8:04 PM

So I really love my carriers, but it is time that I have a stroller. I am in the market for a jogging stroller but I am very overwhelmed with all of the choices. I used to go to Babies R US to check out some of the options, but the closest one is an hour away now. So I must do some market research another way. Any suggestions? Should I get a double? Is expensive always better? Are there any better brands? Do any of them fold up? Thanks!

  1. Oh man...this is a subject I am somewhat passionate about. When I was in the market for a jogging stroller I researched like crazy. I didn't want to end up with a jogging stroller and separate bike trailer. So...I wanted something that could do both and do it well. I found that the Cougar 2 from Chariot Carriers was my fit. It is expensive, but it has been well worth it. It is the BEST thing I have ever bought for my girls. I got the double as I planned on having more kids soon. With the double you can just move the harness to the middle so your kid is sitting in the middle and it doesn't seem too huge that way. Chariot Carriers uses a chassis that you buy conversion kits for. We have the jogging kit, stroller kit and bike attachment. We also have the infant sling, extra bike attacher for Bran's bike, cargo rack and rain cover(which isn't necessary as the cover that comes with it is quite water proof). I've recommended this stroller to many friends and family and the ones that have bought it have been super happy. Last summer I used mine everyday, either biking the girls around town, or jogging with them or just strollering to the store to buy groceries (you can fit tonnes in the storage at the back). We'd also use it for hiking. It handles rugged terrain very well. It is light, but big. It folds down alright, but the double is still....a double. I think you'll run into that with any double stroller. It was also featured in Runners World as an excellent double jogger choice. I could go on and on about this. Anyway...if you'd like more info, let me know. My sister got a pretty good deal on hers from rei.com. I bought mine from livingincomfort.com. You can check it out more at their website www.chariotcarriers.com. Hope this helps a little.

  2. I don't have a jogging stroller but have wanted one so I'm excited to check out Jodie's recommendation! I would agree on getting the double stroller though. We bought the Graco Travel System and after a few months I realized it was dumb of us to spend so much money on a single stroller when we'll be needing a double sooner than later (hopefully anyway). Good luck and let us know what you decide on! You must LOVE being in Southern Cal! I looked at some of your older posts and here's a fun fact: Peja and I were born at the same hospital! Where exactly are you guys living? I'm fairly familiar with that area since I'm from Scripps Ranch and most of our friends now live in Poway. Happy Day of Love!
